id=214 I have also seen WPA - Enterprise as just WPA.

Then I just changed the settings of the router back to normal.

trying to connect ot home wireless network get message: "Windows unable to find a certificate to log you onto the network" using Windows XP Home Edition We have other Windows based products - PC, laptop, Xbox that all can connect to the home Asus router.

So what I did was just: 1) open network connections 2) click properties 3) in the GENERAL tab, click INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP) 4) click Properties 5) choose obtain DNS server automatically My internet worked afterwards. I had to surf using an unsecured network server for the past months.

According to my friend, this prevented me from connecting to the net despite having a wi-fi connection.

But my manager did say to call Verisign and obtain a new certificate. I have a simple understanding of digital certs but have not worked with them in a while.

In short, i have a laptop which connected to the AP which is also running RADIUS and then talks to the IAS server. If you are telling me that you are using WPA with a shared key on your router, then you are using WPA - Personal. You want to make sure you are using that option on your computer. You do not want to make sure you are not using WPA-EAP. This version requires a certificate server and a matching certificate on yout computer to connect to the wireless. It looks like you are using WPA-EAP on your computer. We have been able to connect to the router, but not access the internet.error "windows was unable to find certificate to log on to the network" & showing validating identity. So what I did was just: 1) open network connections 2) click properties 3) in the GENERAL tab, click INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP) 4) click Properties 5) choose obtain DNS server automatically My internet worked afterwards. This wasn't my solution unfortunately as I was already using the option for obtaining DNS server automatically.Since I couldn't connect to my network wirelessly, I decided to connect to it by wire.I moved the selection tab to WPA2 only and keep the rest the same and no luck. I had an unsecure network connection so I changed the security settings of my tp-link router from WEP to WAP-TKIP. after that, i changed my network settings to the same WAP-TPIK option. It just says "validating identity" and does not ask for a passkey at all. thanks You want to make sure you are using the same version of WPA on each side. When I try to connect using the windows zero configuration utility it gets stuck validating identity. It says something about windows not finding a certificate.
